Free credit repair usually begins with taking a look at your credit report. This is a very easy thing to do. You simply request a free copy of your credit report from a credit agency and this is where you will begin.
The next thing you do is you contact all of the people that are on your report that our claiming that you are delinquent and call them up to make negotiation.
If you are unable to make negotiations with them, you can always hire a company to do this for you.
But here's the trick!
What most people do when they get negotiations is to not talk directly to the people who are in charge of the companies. Everyone has a boss. And your creditors want to make this good.
Therefore, tell them that you are willing to make a partial payment now in return for a discounted total repayment of the entire bill. If you are a hardship case, if you tell them that you do not have a job anymore or that you have run into financial duress, they will usually work with you sometimes almost eliminating the entire debt.
It is best to be honest, but also on your guard. However, by directly contacting the institution that you own money to, you are more likely to see results than if you go through the legal firms and companies that are trying to scare you into repaying your bills.
And as you repay them, your credit will gradually return to normal once again.
